Si restringono i candidati alle nomination in molte categorie.
Oltre alla shortlist per la categoria “migliore film internazionale”, in cui abbiamo visto non rientrare Familia di Francesco Costabile, l’Academy ha comunicato altre shortlist che restringono il campo di altre categorie in vista del 22 gennaio 2026, in cui saranno annunciate le nomination all’Oscar. E qui, nonostante non se ne parli molto, arrivano buone notizie anche per l’Italia per i corti animati grazie alla produzione italiana Playing God di Matteo Burani e a Éiru diretto dalla regista bolognese Giovanna Ferrari. C’è un po’ di Italia anche nella sezione relativa alla migliore canzone dove è presente il brano “Sweet Dreams of Joy” tratto da Viva Verdi!, il documentario della regista italo-statunitense Yvonne Russo dedicato alla vita degli ospiti di “Casa Verdi” a Milano, la Casa di Riposo per Musicisti voluta e fondata da Giuseppe Verdi nel 1899.
Campanilismi a parte, uno sguardo sulle categorie, che quest’anno includono anche la fotografia e quella nuova dedicata ai casting director, mostra sicuramente quali saranno i film su cui si concentrerà la stagione dei premi. I titoli che maggiormente ricorrono sono Frankenstein, Hamnet, Marty Supreme, Una battaglia dopo l’altra, The Secret Agent, Sentimental Value, I peccatori e Wicked – parte 2. Sarà tra questi che si giocherà la partita, più qualche outsider (Sirât?, Weapons?) che speriamo ravvivi un po’ la già frizzante corsa.
Ricordo che la notte degli Oscar sarà il 15 marzo 2026 a Los Angeles.
